The
Aeroquip Employees Credit Union was
organized in July 1949. Peter
Hurst, founder of Aeroquip
Corporation, was from Germany where
credit unions were originally formed.
Mr. Hurst felt so strongly about
organizing a financial cooperative
that he let them have their first
office inside the Corporation walls.
The
reason for the formation of credit
unions was because factory workers
found it difficult to borrow money
from banks, so a financial cooperative
was organized by the employees. The
benefits of using a credit union were
numerous. You earned higher dividends
on your share account, lower interest
rates on loans, friendlier service,
payroll deductions, etc..
Over
the years Aeroquip Credit Union has
grown tremendously. We now have over
$40 Million in assets and over 5,130
members. We have expanded our
membership to all Aeroquip Corporation
plants throughout the United States,
as well as
Select
Employee Groups
(SEGs)
in the area.
OUR
CORE VALUES
Earning Member Loyalty
Value the trust our members have
placed in us by ensuring that we never
misrepresent a product, it's value or
lack of value to the member.
Understand that we alone establish the
reputation for services delivered.
Commit ourselves, as employees, to
bring value to the credit union with a
strong work ethic and a sense of
responsibility for ensuring that we
deliver services to our members in a
way that brings value to their banking
relationships. This involves doing the
right thing morally and going the
extra mile when necessary.
Understanding
That Employees Are Our Greatest Asset
Value the contributions and
commitment of our employees, always
look for opportunities to recognize
and reward performance. Encourage and
support the continual development of
personnel, giving them every
opportunity to develop skills that
foster growth within the credit
union. Ensure that all employees
recognize the value of teamwork, and
consistently and unselfishly support
each other in achieving the goals of
the credit union. Develop an
environment that encourages hard work
among people who are genuinely happy
to be employed at the credit
union.
